The Buena Vista Event Cooperative (BVEC) is hosting a local artist competition with a prize of $450 for the winning design. BVEC encourages local artists to submit a drawing or image that shows the spirit of Buena Vista (BV) and the Legacy Stage at McPhelemy Park. The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 26.

In addition to the $450 prize, the winning design will be featured on the front of the 2024 Season Shirt provided to the musicians, artists, volunteers, and sponsors of shows on the Legacy Stage.

There are some rules for entering a piece into the competition:

  • The image must be hand-drawn or digitally created by a human being.
  • Submissions should be sent in as a JPEG email attachment. Artists can reach out to BVLegacyStage@gmail.com if they need assistance getting a scan or photograph of a hand-drawn work or if they have additional questions about the file format or other submission requirements.
  • No more than four colors should be used.
  • The image must be 10 inches by 11 inches.
  • The file format preferred is a JPEG, but artists can reach out via email if that is not an option.
  • Submissions should be emailed to BVLegacyStage@gmail.com along with contact information no later than Friday, April 26.

The Legacy Stage’s summer kickoff is currently scheduled for Saturday, June 1 in partnership with the Buena Vista Public Library.
