Fall River arts group gives $2,000 grants to 6 local artists

FALL RIVER – Six artists have received grants of $2,000 each from the Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition to create projects at FRACC’s Ignition Space, 44 Troy St.

Samantha Charles, Christina Senra Preble, Filomena Botelho, Gregory Molinar, Sharon Jussaume and Brittni Ann Harvey received the grants. Their projects will kick off in the Ignition Space starting in June.

The grant allows artists to use the Ignition Space for a month, where they will be able to create, market and host a public event. This could range from receptions to community engagement programs.

Selected grant winners also attended professional development workshops led by Kathleen Hancock, executive director of the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery at Bristol Community College.
