So when Local Spins celebrates its 12th anniversary by staging Local Spins Fest on May 18 at Studio Park in downtown Grand Rapids, we also want to spotlight the work of young, talented, up-and-coming visual artists.
It follows our theme for the 2023 festival, which will focus on uplifting and showcasing young musicians, something that will officially be announced later this month.
But for now: Know any young, talented artists? Spread the word and let them know about this unique opportunity to recognize and display their art.

That’s because we’re sponsoring our first-ever poster concert for artists ages 12 to 18.
We’re looking for full color, original designs that we can incorporate into our official poster that will be used to promote Local Spins Fest and marketed at the event.
Here are the rules/requirements:
• Submitting artists must be 12 to 18 years of age, and only one submission per entrant will be accepted;
• The full color, original design should include “Local Spins Fest 2024” while incorporating our 2024 themes — “The Future of Michigan Music” and/or “Local Spins’ 12th anniversary” in some way;
• Any AI (artificial intelligence) assisted designs are ABSOLUTELY prohibited;
• Attach up to 3 files of the submitted work (entrants can include different views, closeups of detail, etc. if necessary) in one of these file types: .pdf, .png, .psd, .ai, .svg, .jpg (PDF is preferred) with minimum image resolution of 300dpi;
• Include artist name, age, hometown, school, description of medium used, email address and phone number;
• Images/entries must be submitted no later than midnight March 31 to info@localspins.com.
The first place winner will receive a $150 gift card, Local Spins merch, two tickets to the Midtown concert of their choice and other goodies. The runner-up will receive a $50 gift card and Local Spins merch.
