Local artists and creatives promote their organizations and perform for the whole family at Ignite Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) Ignite Peoria is back with several showcases of spoken word, theater, dancing, and even a fashion show.

This event intends to spark artistic expression for aspiring young talent.

Several resource vendors were there to promote their organizations such as the Peoria Ballet, Arts Partners, Peoria Art Guild, Farwood Fiber Arts, and more.

Mina McIntire from the Children’s Opera Outreach Program was there performing her current production, “My Best Friend’s A Pirate,” which is an engaging play teaching the youth about friendship.

She says the production for next year is called, “The Flying Shoe.”

“The next one is all about finding who you are and loving yourself,” said McIntire. “I’m trying to find the perfect shoe that fits me.”

McIntire adds that this is her first year performing at Ignite Peoria, and this was the 21st performance for the outreach program.
