Luxury brand teams up with Louisville artist for Kentucky Derby bag painting event


Nationally recognized self-taught artist and Louisville native Jaylin Stewart has teamed up with Coach New York creating hand-painted Coach-themed bags for the Derby Season.The store hosted the artist for the fourth annual Derby Bag painting event this weekend. Customers had the opportunity to meet with the artist behind the designs.”It brings a really unique and different style to the store and it’s something fun because you get to actually meet the artist and see the artist live paint,” said Stewart. “Coach and a lot of luxury brands do collaborate with a lot of artists but the bags may be printed and shipped off so you don’t get that kind of experience.”Stewart is known for her unique style and use of vibrant colors.She is selling hand-painted Coach bags based on three exclusive, Derby-themed designs from a collection that featured not just purses but wallets and more.
