As she snags another leader, the hip-hop powerhouse puts more distance between herself and every other artist in history–well, almost every other artist.
“FTCU” rises to No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart this week, lifting all the way from No. 19, where it ranked last period. Before this frame, its high point was No. 10, which it reached when the tune was new. In the past tracking period, the single sold 8,700 copies, according to data shared by Luminate.
As “FTCU” soars to the summit for the first time, Minaj earns her seventeenth No. 1 hit on the Digital Song Sales chart. That’s one of the greatest accumulations of all time on the tally, and it shows that Minaj is still selling like the best of them many years into her career.
With another No. 1 to her credit, Minaj furthers her lead as the musician with the second-most leaders on the Digital Song Sales chart. Rihanna ranks in third place, with 14. For years, she was in second place, but just last year, Minaj passed her–perhaps for good. With each new smash she earns, Minaj continues to further her lead for second place.
Among all artists, Taylor Swift rules the Digital Song Sales chart. The singer-songwriter has thus far earned 28 No. 1 hits on the purchase-only tally.
Both Minaj and Swift regularly up their career totals when it comes to No. 1 hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. In 2023, the two superstars both added four wins to their discographies. They tied one another for the most rulers of that year among all artists. As 2024 begins, Minaj is winning this race, but it’s only January, and there’s still a lot of music to come out.
