Open house at the Ménilmontant 2024 studios: discover the artists of the 20th arrondissement

Les Ateliers de Ménilmontant open their doors to the general public from September 26 to 28, 2024: come and meet the painters, sculptors, photographers, engravers, ceramists, draughtsmen, visual artists and video artists of Paris’ 20th arrondissement.

Thousands of visitors, unique discoveries and encounters, and a great time to be had in the 20th arrondissement: the artists of Ménilmontant look forward to seeing you from September 26 to 29, 2024, for a new edition of the Portes Ouvertes des Ateliers de Ménilmontant. For the 33rd consecutive year, painters, photographers, sculptors, ceramists and draughtsmen await you to present their work and projects. It’s a free event that s always a highlight of the new cultural season!

Once again this year, you can admire the work of over a hundred artists, and visit 47 studios in the rich and festive Ménilmontant district. During these four days, galleries, theaters, cafés and social centers open their doors to you, transforming this small corner of Paris into a giant art gallery. A map-guide will enable you to stroll around the neighborhood without missing a single exhibition.

Whether you’re a professional, an enlightened amateur or simply curious, it’s a warm and unique moment of discovery and encounter during an artistic stroll through various art and meeting places. It’s also an opportunity to take home a unique work of art!

During these four days, take advantage of this opportunity to take a fresh look at the artist’s work and acquire new knowledge: knowing how to recognize an engraving from a lithograph, a bronze or patinated sculpture, a ceramic from a raku… Discover artists who maintain traditional skills, and others who perpetuate ancestral techniques by adapting ancient processes to contemporary techniques.

Created over twenty years ago, the ADM (Ateliers de Ménilmontant) association forges close links between local residents and cultural and social institutions, and artistically invests the public space: painting collective ephemeral frescoes, transfiguring the street… Visitors can pick up a map of the itinerary at a reception desk, and take a quick tour of all the exhibiting artists by consulting their books at Galerie Ménil’8.
