Quincy Art Center looking to make ‘Connections’ with local artists | Spotlight

QUINCY — The Quincy Art Center is inviting local artist lovers of all mediums to submit work for an upcoming exhibit.

The exhibit, themed as “Connections,” is open to both artists and collectors, with all types of artwork being welcomed. The Art Center, in a release calling for submissions, said the exhibit will be an opportunity for artists and collectors to not only contribute, but also to engage with the community through the sharing and creation of artwork.

To enrich the viewer’s experience and deepen the connection between the artist or collector and the audience, the Art Center is encouraging the inclusion of a written statement or story about the artwork and what about the piece represents “Connections,” for either the artist or collector. These personal insights will help convey the inspiration and meaning behind each piece, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation.

Submissions for the “Connections” exhibit can be delivered to the Art Center between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on August 7 through 10. An opening reception will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. on August 23.

This exhibition is open for established creators or collectors or those new to the scene. For more information and to read the full submission guidelines, go to quincyartcenter.org and find “Connections” under the upcoming exhibits.
