Second Annual Hel’s Fury Tattoo Festival Brings Together Artists From Around The Country

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Nearly sixty tattoo artists from around the country made their way to Brewhalla for its second annual Hel’s Fury Tattoo Festival.

“It’s very on brand for us if I’m being honest. But I also think that there are so many cool artists here from around the country that people in the Fargo area wouldn’t normally have a chance to get tattooed by outside of this. So, I think the space lends itself really well to the convention and we’re so excited,” said Alex Deane, Event Coordinator for Brewhalla.

The idea for the festival came together by Athena Funk, owner of Fargo tattoo, Amarok Tattoo Studio. Bringing together artists with various years of experience and areas of expertise. Each has a chance to showcase what they’ve got.

“I am very unique, I offer a lot of healing properties through the tattoo’s I do, intentionally and accidentally. But yeah there is a lot of emotional healing and I hold a lot of space for all of my clients. And I don’t do tattoos, I do dream tattoos. So we don’t start people on tattoos, we do the tattoos that you are dying to get,” said Robbie Ripoll, Owner of Rad Ink.

During the festival, artists can submit their artwork to be judged in small, medium, and large art pieces. With each artist receiving a handmade award by Funk.

While it’s a chance for artists to get their names and business out there, the festival brings together a family.

“It’s like a little family reunion. I mean we know every single one of these artists has been handpicked from across the country. We’ve known many of them for many many years. They’re some of the best people in the industry. And so it’s really exciting to come together with people that you know, make new friends, talk a lot of shop, and just see some really really cool art,” said Bambi, Guest Artist at Amarok Tattoo.

The festival continues through Sunday at Brewhalla, with spots to get inked filling up.
