The community gathered Friday at the Lamar Community Building for a night of soul-stirring music and heartfelt worship, courtesy of the Southeast Music Series. The event, organized by Lori Hammer and Coleen Tinnes, welcomed renowned Christian artist Josh Wilson, whose music resonates deeply with audiences seeking solace and inspiration.
Josh Wilson, a Texas native, has journeyed through trials and triumphs, and his music reflects this profound experience. His transparency about his battles with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and alcohol addiction set the tone for an evening of authenticity and vulnerability.
Despite his initial reluctance to be in the spotlight, Wilson’s undeniable talent propelled him forward. Since signing his first record deal in 2006, he has amassed a collection of top 10 Billboard hits, including “Savior, Please,” “I Refuse,” and “Before the Morning.” His music speaks to the human experience, offering hope and comfort in times of struggle.
