Visual artists needed: Disability Pride Lehigh Valley seeks submissions for its summer exhibition


ALLENTOWN, PA. — Are you a visual artist with a physical or intellectual disability? If so there’s an upcoming exhibition that seeks your unique perspective.

The Lehigh Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance and Disability Pride Pennsylvaniaare accepting entries for a visual medium exhibition.

Selected artworks will be on display and available for purchase at the second annual Disability Pride Lehigh Valley held on July 20 at Allentown Arts Park.

Additionally, the artwork will be on display at the Disability Pride Lehigh Valley Juried Exhibition held July 18 through Aug. 8 at the Baum School of Art, 501 W. Linden St.

The Lehigh Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance and Disability Pride Pennsylvania are seeking submissions for an upcoming exhibition in July.

There is no fee to apply.

Visual artists working in drawing, painting, video, digital, photography, metal, ceramics, paper, plaster and found objects, may submit works through Friday, June 7.

All submitting artists must identify as a person with a disability.

According to the Lehigh Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance, eligible artists may have visible, physical, and/or sensory conditions — along with less visible conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, chronic illness, PTSD, OCD, dyslexia, dysgraphia and neurodivergence.

Artists must submit at least two pieces of work including a short personal bio, a description of the works and its cost.

Sales of the art will be split 70% to the artist and 30% to the Baum School.
