Despite the cold and snowy weather outside Saturday night, dozens of community members came out to Van Go to celebrate the launch of the young artists’ annual art show and sale.
Adornment features the works of apprentice artists with Van Go, the nonprofit arts-based employment program for Douglas County teens and young adults ages 14 to 24. The opening event gives the young artists a chance to see shoppers choose the pieces they created.

In-person shopping hours — available from Sunday, Nov. 26 through Wednesday, Dec. 20 — are 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays at Van Go, 715 New Jersey St. in East Lawrence.
Van Go’s online store is available to shop year-round at shop-van-go.myshopify.com. New products will be added to the online store at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, according to the organization’s website.
