European Prize for Applied Arts 2024

The European Prize for Applied Arts aims to reward the best creations of contemporary expression in applied arts and artisanal design on the basis of criteria of artistic merit, technical mastery and innovation. This competition is for all artists working in the field of applied arts and crafts, residing in a country member of the Customs Union from the European Union and not subject to customs charges for transport to and from Belgium.

It is open to all disciplines relating to the applied arts, which include ceramics, glass, textiles, wood, paper, jewellery, furniture, accessories… This also includes the field of “artisanal design” which covers objects designed and made by the exhibitor either as a one-off piece (or prototype) or produced in small series.

Two Prizes for the laureates:
€3500 awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles
€3500 awarded by WCCE
Two events:
Exhibition : 24.11.2024 → 16.02.2025
Award ceremony : 23.11.2024

This competition is for all artists working in the field of applied arts and crafts, residing in a country member of the Customs Union from the European Union and not subject to customs charges for transport to and from Belgium.
The works selected for the competition must be of a high standard, both technically and aesthetically, and be innovative.

Initiated in 2009, in partnership with the City of Mons, the World’s Craft Council Europe (WCCE) and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, the European Prize for Applied Arts rewards creations of contemporary expression in the field of Applied Arts and Craft Design.
