A total of 17 artists are participating in this year’s show, including three who are new members of the guild.

A variety of mediums including oil, acrylics, watercolour, encaustics, and mixed media will be featured in landscape, still life, and abstract themes.

“Our artists continue to meet on Tuesday afternoons sharing their knowledge and passion for art,” said show convenor Peg Jackson. “Their thoughtful critiques of each other’s work, when requested, is a tie for personal artistic growth and camaraderie during these sessions.”

The show is also an opportunity for local artists to consider joining the Brant Visual Artists Guild.

Brantford artists Craig Clark and Kevin Best are new to the guild this year and will be showing works at the sale for the first time.

Clark said he prefers to use acrylics and watercolour, and enjoys creating landscapes and interesting entryways to buildings.

Meantime Best, who also lists photography as a passion, said that since retiring he now has the time to devote to creating watercolour landscapes.

“It’s a good group,” he said of the guild. “We really enjoy it.”

Jackson said each artist will have their own table to allow visitors to meet the artist, some of whom do commission work and will have a portfolio to show.

“Art is at its best when it is shared with others,” said the show convenor. “There is no better feeling for an artist when their work finds a new home.”

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Parking and admission are free.
