The Lodge Wadjemup – Gathering Ground

Location: Wadjemup / Rottnest Island
Art Theory are pleased to invite experienced Nyungar artists / artist teams to express their interest in a public art commission for a new cultural gathering space at the The Lodge Wadjemup on Rottnest Island.
We will be commissioning 3 artworks across two locations – a pathway and 2 lightworks using GOBO projectors – and each are to explore the theme of the island being the place ‘where time completes a circle’ as authoured by Elder Richard Walley.
We would like three artists or artist team to produce one work each.
Programme:
Artwork completion & installation is planned for mid 2024.
Artist fees:
$1,500 Shortlisted Artists – Concept fee (each) ex GST
$6,000 each Selected Artist – Artist fee (excluding fabrication & installation) ex GST
