Queen Street Art Prize – ArtsHub Australia


The Color Queen Gallery at 136 Queen Street, Woollahra, Sydney is providing a prominent platform and opportunity for artists at various points in their careers, ranging from emerging to more established professional.  The exhibition will encompass 50 Finalist Artist’s  2D oil and acrylic paintings on canvas (only) with the theme “Native Australian Botanicals”.

Created by The The Color Queen Gallery founder and fine artist, Concetta Antico, known worldwide as  “The Color Queen”, Concetta aim is to install an added love of Australian nature and colour into the arts and public communities through her prize.  As a scientifically endorsed Tetrachromat, Concetta sees 100 million more colours than regular vision, therefore she has emphasised a focus on colour and natural earthly beautyfor this art prize.

The Queen Street Art Prize theme is hence  “Native Australian Botanicals” as Concetta understands the Australian flora is paramount in creating a healthy ecosystem in our natural environs. “Our unique Australian native plants provide sustenance and habitats for a wide variety of local wildlife, and are necessary to sustain this life in this country.  I encourage artists to submit work with this focus in mind and with an emphasis on colour”, she states.

The finalists’ works will be on public display from 26th April  – 16th May 2025 at The Color Queen Gallery, 136 Queen Street, Woollahra, Sydney and the announcement of the prize winners will take place at the opening night of the exhibition on 26th April at 7pm. The winners will be announced online as well.
