SECCA invites artists from across Australia to submit entries for the 2024 SHNPA.
Winner receives $50,000 prize money.
The Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award is one of Australia’s most loved and richest prizes for realistic portraiture. The $50,000 biennial award is non-acquisitive and attracts hundreds of entries from many of Australia’s most respected artists.
The Award celebrates realistic portraiture in memory of artist, patron and avid supporter of the arts, Shirley Hannan.
The Award requires that selected works accurately depict their subjects without abstraction and demonstrate proficient skills and knowledge of drawing and painting techniques.
The submission must be a painting. It can be in any media eg. oils, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media.
Entries open 27 May and close 30 Sept 2024
