The Visual Arts Hakhel event held before the end of the year 5783 in Crown Heights saw a nice turnout of visual artists and enthusiasts, not only from the neighborhood but also from distant corners of the artistic community.

The evening featured six distinguished visual artists who took the stage in a format reminiscent of TED-style talks. The presentations were nothing short of captivating, seamlessly weaving together elements of visual arts, Torah, Chassidus, and practical life lessons.

They included renowned artist Michoel Muchnik, filmmaker Daniel Finkelman, illustrator and animator Annita Soble, Alter Deitsch of TVR, Mush Kanner, Art Director at the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), and Chaim Hershkowitz of Jewish video streaming app Tovedoo. Emcee was Moishe Muchnik.

In the wake of this successful event at Chevra Ahavas Yisroel, many voiced the sentiment that gatherings of this nature should not be reserved for once-in-a-lifetime occurrences but rather should become a more frequent staple in the community calendar.

Attendees shared in their praise following the event, with one participant exclaiming, “Last night was amazing! To hear from so many folks who have aligned their calling with their work and with Torah. Thank you! The genuineness was overwhelming… and refreshing.”

Community news service COLlive.com was a media sponsor of the event.
