According to her website, Grant is a visual artist who explores “the use of text and language in various media”, including “painting, drawing, sculpture, film and photography”. Grant’s art has been written about in publications like the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and Artforum.

The artist has exhibited her work at a variety of galleries and institutions, including ones in Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore and Paris. Several of her works are also included in museum collections around the world.

Per her website, Grant has won several awards, including a grant from the Pollock-Krasner foundation and the COLA individual artist fellowship. She has also worked with author Michael Joyce, artist Channing Hansen and philosopher Hélène Cixous, among others.

According to an Instagram post of hers from August 2019, Grant officiated a wedding in Brooklyn Bridge Park. She also posted a photo of her clergy badge to Instagram earlier that month.

Grant and Reeves are frequent collaborators and have reportedly been friends since 2011, when the artist illustrated Reeves’ book Ode to Happiness, published that year. She also illustrated his book Shadows in 2016.

Additionally, the duo co-founded X Artists’ Books in 2017, an art-book publishing house that aims to produce “thoughtful, high-quality, artist-centred books that fit within and between genres”.

After attending Art Basel together in 2016, Grant and Reeves attended numerous other public events together, including the launch of X Artists’ Books in 2017 and a benefit for the Moca in May. The duo even held hands while at the Saint Laurent men’s fashion show in Malibu in June 2019.

They keep their relationship largely under wraps

Since going public with their relationship status on the red carpet in 2019, the two have only appeared together publicly a handful of times, most recently in April 2023.

Neither Grant nor Reeves share a lot of intimate details about their romance in interviews, but their responses to occasional questions about it suggest that they’re in a happy, healthy and creatively fulfilling relationship.

Grant said building her career before meeting Reeves made it easier for her to share the spotlight. “The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun. Grant also praised Reeves’ creativity and said it inspires her own creative process: “What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we’re pushing each other to build new roads. Seeing the other person’s problem-solving is inspiring, like, ‘Oh, well, OK, this one, that’s a cul-de-sac. How do I try this other thing?’”

She adds “He’s such an inspiration to me. He’s so creative, he’s so kind. He works so hard.”
