With a career spanning more than five decades, American artist Joan Snyder has developed a distinct visual language through painting that engages with both personal and collective emotion and experience. Beginning her career when Minimalism was at its apogee, Snyder maintained a creative commitment to feminist practices. She also employed non-traditional techniques to create her work, leading to deeply personal yet widely relatable compositions. Snyder has been the subject of several solo museum exhibitions, including at the Jewish Museum, New York, and the Rose Art Museum, at Brandeis University, Waltham.

His work frequently examines the relationships between humans and nature through the lens of the current moment, namely the Digital Age. He was recently part of a dual-artist show with Latitude Gallery, New York, where he presented six oil paintings composed primarily in shades and hues of blue, portraying nature-inspired landscapes and elements of figuration rife with imagination.
