During the roll call ceremony of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on August 20, music had a significant influence. Popular music played in the background as delegates from other states swore allegiance to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris. At the United Center, a vibrant environment was created by each state selecting songs that reflected them, as per the reports of Yahoo entertainment.

Celebrity appearances at the DNC

Governor Kathy Hochul introduced the state’s delegates while Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z set the mood for New York. The song “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan was chosen by Vermont because it captured the essence of the state. The musical selection for the occasion also included “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter, “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton, and “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift.
