ANDERSON — The Anderson Museum of Art is seeking submissions for its annual “Figures of Speech” exhibition.
For the 13th year in a row, AMOA is hosting this exhibition, which utilizes all the classic “Figures of Speech” to develop works of art.
An artists’ reception is planned for July 17; digital entries are due Wednesday, July 27. The exhibit is schedule to run from Aug. 22 through Sept. 29.
“Figures of Speech” is open to all artists 18 years or older in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
The exhibit is focused on utilizing classic expressions — “Figures of Speech” — to develop works of art. Examples include “Birds of a Feather Flock Together” or “When Pigs Fly.”
The following media are accepted: works on paper, paintings, contemporary conceptual photography, mixed media, and sculpture.
