Wicklow artists invited to apply for exhibition funding

Wicklow visual artists, especially emerging artists, recent graduates, and early/mid-career artists with solo or collaborative projects, are invited to apply for the Artist-Initiated Projects 2024 from Pallas Projects/Studios.

Pallas Projects/Studios is seeking proposals for funded three-week exhibitions from artists across all contemporary visual art forms.

The application procedure is free and easy to complete, and projects will be self-directed, with an artist’s fee/production budget and other valuable support from PP/S.

Exhibitions will run from March to October 2024, and PP/S welcome projects/bodies of work that are completed/near completion or work in progress with clearly expressed outcomes. Please note the ability to turn around projects in a short time may be required.

There is an artist fee/production budget of €600 for solo artists and €1000 for group exhibitions.

“We’ve made a few changes to the application process this year, including an earlier, extended application process and the option to submit a video instead of a text document to allow for accessibility needs,” a spokesperson said.

“An online session will also take place with the opportunity to hear more about the programme, get advice on the application process, and ask questions ahead of submission.

“Artist-Initiated Projects at Pallas Projects/Studios is an open-submission, annual gallery programme of eight three-week exhibitions.

“This unique programme of funded, artist-initiated projects selected via open call is highly accessible to artists with a focus on early career, emerging artists and recent graduates.

“Projects are supplemented with artists’ talks, texts, workshops or performances, and gallery visits by colleges and local schools.”

To apply for the Artist-Initiated Projects programme, visit visualartists.ie. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, November 23, at 5 p.m.

The Artist-Initiated Projects programme at PP/S is funded by The Arts Council.
