Winter X Games, Friday-Sunday, Buttermilk
The action of X Games Aspen is back for the 23rd consecutive year.
X Games will return to Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass with more than 100 of the world’s best action sports athletes competing in ski and snowboard events. X Games Aspen 2024 will feature men’s and women’s ski and snowboard competitions in the disciplines of SuperPipe, Slopestyle, Big Air, and Knuckle Huck. X Games Aspen is free to attend and will have live coverage of the event on ESPN, and ABC, also live streaming on XGames.com.
For the first time, X Games will offer fans the opportunity to enhance their X Games experience by reserving their spot in the course corral areas through the purchase of a Corral Ticket, now available for purchase.
X Fest, the free three-day sponsor village, will be located at the base of Buttermilk and offer limited, free spectator competition viewing areas of Big Air, Knuckle Huck, and Slopestyle. X Fest will also feature sponsor activations, athlete autograph signings, concessions, and Jumbotrons for fans to watch all of the live X Games Aspen competitions.

FISHER, 10 p.m., Friday, Belly up Aspen
Known for his wild sense of humor and energetic DJing style, FISHER has become one of the scene’s most in-demand talents — sending him to the spotlight, his breakout track “Losing It” earned him his first Grammy nomination. Fast-forward to 2023 and the track has now amassed well over half a billion streams, cementing its status as one of the biggest dance records of the decade in the process.
FISHER is on a roll this year, with a weekly Hi Ibiza residency, his TAO Vegas residency, and appearances including headlining Outside Lands and We Are FSTVL to name a few.

CloZee, 10 p.m., Saturday, Belly Up Aspen
A purveyor of lucid sounds, French producer Chloé Herry is a worldly and rhythmic figure in the electronic music atmosphere.
Now based in Denver, CloZee has made a name for herself by skewing the usual curves of bass music and evoking a spiritual and evolutionary sound. In 2020, she started a new journey with the launch of her artist-friendly label, Odyzey Music, where she’s devoted to highlighting the underground artists of bass music and beyond. With the inception of Odyzey Music, she released her sophomore album “Neon Jungle,” which later saw official remixes by Lane 8, Opiuo, Emancipator, and Of the Trees and was followed by her “Nouvelle Era” EP in 2021.
With a reputation as a curator of experimental sounds, Odyzey Music has hosted official stage takeovers at festivals like Electric Zoo and Sonic Bloom, in addition to CloZee’s own Voyage Festival. As one of bass music’s foremost female innovators, CloZee has garnered attention across the electronic music spectrum, even gracing the cover of DJ Mag in December 2022. In July 2023, she released her highly-anticipated 3rd studio album “Microworlds” a 12-track project. The album arrived ahead of her massive Fall 2023 North American Headlining Tour across 40+ markets. Her biggest tour to date, performing for over 100K fans. Expect 2024 to be a milestone year for the diversifying producer.

45th Annual Valley Visual Art Show, now through Feb. 22, The Launchpad, 76 S. 4th St., Carbondale
The Valley Visual Art Show (VVAS) is one of the longest-standing community art shows committed to showing the work of local artists. VVAS began in 1980 as a venue for local artists to share their artwork with the public. It still provides this opportunity, especially for artists new to the area and budding artists; but the show has also become both a salute to the wide variety of artistic talents in our area and a time to bring the artist community together. Last year’s 44th annual show featured about 60 Roaring Fork Valley artists and included two and three-dimensional work created in with wide variety of media. We received work from many new artists as well as many long-time local artists from the Roaring Fork Valley.

“Preserving the Dark of Night: Chasing the Midnight Rainbow” – Join Ann Driggers, outdoor adventurer/photographer, and Martha Ferguson of WildSky Old Snowmass for their side-by-side presentation exploring Old Snowmass’ journey to become the first designated International Dark Sky Community in the Roaring Fork Valley. The presentation will be punctuated visually with Ann’s inspiring and spectacular photos taken in the darkest corners of our local night sky. Come away with knowledge and an understanding of the multidimensional importance of protecting the darkness of night, and sign up for a hands-on astrophotography class with Ann.
