Petite Miniature Textiles 2024 – ArtsHub Australia

Wangaratta Art Gallery is now calling for entries to our biennial small scale textile exhibition, Petite Miniature Textiles 2024.

Marking the 13th anniversary of this very popular, accessible exhibition, Petite Miniature Textiles 2024 will be held from 27 April – 23 June 2024.

Showcasing small textile practice from across Australia, Petite has become a highlight of Wangaratta Art Gallery’s program and a focus for contemporary textile art practitioners. The exhibition continues to grow in popularity with artists from around the country selected for their innovative small-scale textile works.

This year artists are asked to respond to the theme ‘of the times‘ and put forward for selection works which address and articulate contemporary issues and ideas.

Applications will be selected by Guest Curator, artist and previous Petite exhibitor, Susie Losch and Wangaratta Art Gallery Director, Rachel Arndt. The panel will consider work that best meets the theme as well as the quality of execution, mastery of technique and the artist’s interpretation of the term miniature. The term miniature or in-miniature is applied to any work of art produced at a scale much smaller than expected for the type of work.
